REPS and Coverage
Many other territories are available as we continue to grow. Please contact Dan Harris at 214-295-5426 and/or email a resume to dan@tolasalesgroup.com
We are always looking for good reps! Here are some details on becoming a neighborhood rep with TOLA Sales Group:
The Position
TOLA Sales Group is looking for independent sales reps to manage a “neighborhood” territory for the lines we represent. We offer a commission-only position selling wholesale buyers a range of products in a selected market.
The Company
TOLA Sales Group is an LLC owned by Daniel Harris and Linda Haste. We manage 40+ lines in multiple territories from coast to coast with plans to be national by the end of 2012. We run 3 regions, Western, Central and Eastern based on time zones and have developed the Sunbelt states and are working north. We try to represent a wide variety of lines allowing our team to sell a broad spectrum of retailers in smaller “neighborhood” territories allowing them to reduce expenses and maximize sales.
What We Do
We represent manufacturers, distributors and importers products to wholesale buyers. We call on retailers at gift shops, c-stores, supermarkets, grocery stores, hospital gift shops, florists, boutiques, resorts, truck stops, bookstores, sporting goods, garden centers, hardware stores and other stores offering the products at wholesale prices.
How We Do It
Our reps call on buyers every day M-F presenting our lines to numerous categories of buyers and store types. Orders are taken in person, over the phone, fax, internet, email or at trade shows and entered into the TOLA Rep Desk system and transmitted to our manufacturers via email (PDF), fax or EDI for processing. We enable our reps to access TOLA Rep Desk via a cloud-based system from a desktop, laptop, hand-held device or the newer tablet PC’s that are becoming so popular.
How You Make Money
You make money from a commission, based on the order and the amount of products that are shipped and invoiced to the customers you write. Each line pays us a commission and we “split” that with you 70/30 or 60/40 (DOE) and we pay on funds received from our various lines. Each line reports and pays a little differently and most pay on a monthly basis either on POP (pay on payment) or POI (pay on invoicing). We receive payments throughout the month and we pay weekly on any reports and commissions received M-F and transmit a commission report via email and pay via Direct Deposit using Chase Bank.
What You Need
What you need to be successful in this business is the ability to sell and offer customer service. The economy has changed how retailers buy now and they are buying smaller amounts of products more frequently as they adjust to the current reality. Consistency and persistency and a “can do” attitude go a long way to building your business. Access to a computer and the internet are required as well as basic office supplies and a vehicle to get around. TOLA provides email, access to TOLA Rep Desk, sales materials and samples at no cost to the rep. You need enough operating cash to function until your commissions start coming in. TOLA does not pay a wage, salary, gas or any expenses as you are an independent contractor (1099).
Next Steps
If you are interested in knowing more please send me an email (dan@tolasalesgroup.com) expressing your interest in discussing this and follow up with a phone call (214-295-5426) so we can set a time to answer your questions and explore whether this is the right opportunity for you. Also, review some of the lines we represent so you get an idea of what you would be selling.
